Skeptisisme ilmiah

Skeptisisme ilmiah atau skeptisisme rasional adalah posisi seseorang yang mempertanyakan klaim yang kurang memiliki bukti empiris. Dalam praktik, istilah ini biasanya digunakan untuk pengecekan klaim dan teori yang kemungkinan merupakan ilmu semu. Skeptisisme ilmiah berbeda dengan skeptisme filosofis.

Skeptisisme ilmiah menggunakan pemikiran kritis dan pembuktian melalui induksi ketika mencoba melawan klaim yang kurang memiliki bukti.

Istilah ini kemungkinan berasal dari karya Carl Sagan, Contact (hal. 306) dan Billions and Billions (hal. 135).^[1]^[2]
