Edward Hopper (22 Juli 1882 – 15 Mei 1967) adalah seorang pelukis realis asal Amerika. Dia dikenal secara luas karena kemahirannya menggunakan lukisan cat air.[1] Hopper menciptakan suasana tenang dari subjek biasa yang dia sebut 'berlapis dengan makna puitis', dan mengundang interpretasi naratif. Dia juga dipuji karena "kejujuran penuh" akan suasana dan kondisi di Amerika yang dia tuang kedalam gambaran. Kariernya semakin menanjak setelah mempersunting seniman Josephine Nivison, yang banyak berkontribusi pada karyanya, baik sebagai model kehidupan maupun sebagai mitra kreatif.[2][3]
