Rum Millet

Rūm millet (millet-i Rûm), atau "bangsa Romawi", adalah nama komunitas Gereja Ortodoks Timur di Kekaisaran Utsmaniyah. Meskipun umat Kristen ditaklukan oleh Islam, komunitas tersebut menikmati otonomi internal tertentu.

Sultan Mehmed II dan Patriark Gennadios II. Mehmed II mengijinkan Patriarkat Ekumenikal untuk tetap aktif usai Kejatuhan Konstantinopel pada 1453.
