SIdi Saleh is the first Indonesian who won in Venice Film Festival. He won the Orrizonti award for Best Short Film at the Venice International Film Festival 2014 for his film "Maryam", and the same film also entered the selection of Clairmont-Ferrand International Film Festival 2014, France, most prestige short film competition. His film Fitri, which garnered over 1 million hits on Vidsee, also in competition in Clairmont-Ferrand International Film Festival 2013 . Apart from that, he has been producer of The Blind Pig That Wants to Fly and cinematographer of many film nominated at various International Film Festivals, including Taksu (2014) which is a Japanese Film Production, Postcard from the Zoo (2012), The Blind Pig that Wants to Fly (2008), etc. Besides filmmaking, he has given a filmmaking seminar at BINUS, and taught at FLY 2015 ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator.
