Kudeta Jepang di Indochina Prancis
Kudeta Jepang di Indochina Perancis, yang dikenal sebagai Meigo Sakusen (Operasi Bulan Purnama),[3][4] adalah sebuah operasi Jepang yang terjadi pada 9 Maret 1945 sampai akhir Perang Dunia II. Dengan pasukan Jepang kalah perang dan ancaman invasi sekutu ke wilayah Indochina, Jepang bangkit melawan pasukan kolonial Perancis.[5]

Meskipun Perancis telah mengantisipasi serangan, Jepang berhasil melakukan kampanye militer melawan garisun-garisun di seluruh koloni tersebut. Perancis kehilangan pertahanan dan seluruh garisun melarikan diri dengan beberapa diantaranya kabur ke Tiongkok Nasionalis.[2] Jepang menggantikan para perwira Perancis, dan secara efektif melepaskan kontrol mereka atas Indochina. Jepang kemudian mengambil alih dan membentuk Kekaisaran Vietnam, [[Pendudukan Jepang atas Kamboja|Kerajaan Kamboja dan Kerajaan Laos yang berada di bawah kepemimpinan mereka melalui kehadiran militernya dan bersiap sedia akan invasi potensial yang dilakukan oleh sekutu.[6][7]
