Alessandro Algardi
pematung asal Italia (1598-1654)
Alessandro Algardi (31 Juli 1598 – 10 Juni 1654) adalah seorang pematung dan arsitek asal Italia, yang menjadi seniman penting bagi Paus Innocent X.[1] Ia lahir di Bologna dan menerima pelatihan dengan Lodovico Carraci.[1] Sekitar tahun 1625, Alessandro menetap di Roma dan terpilih menjadi kepala Akademi St. Lukas pada tahun 1639.[1]
Ketika Paus Innocent X bertahta, Alessandro menggantikan Giovanni Bernini sebagai pemimpin seniman barok.[1]
