Niall James Horan (lahir 13 September 1993) adalah seorang penyanyi dan penulis lagu asal Irlandia, dikenal sebagai anggota dari boy band One Direction.[1] Pada tahun 2010, Horan mengikuti audisi sebagai artis solo untuk serial televisi Inggris The X Factor. Ia gagal untuk maju di kategori "Boys" ke tahap rumah juri, tapi setelah saran dari Nicole Scherzinger, seorang juri tamu, Horan disatukan untuk membentuk sebuah boy band lima orang bersama Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne dan Louis Tomlinson. Grup lima orang ini pun sampai ke final dan selesai di posisi ketiga. Meskipun mereka tidak menang, One Direction dikontrak £2 juta oleh Simon Cowell dari Syco Music.[2]

Biografi

Ibunya bernama Maura Gallagher dan ayahnya Bobby Horan.[3] Dia memiliki seorang kakak laki-laki bernama Greg.[4] Orang tua nya bercerai saat ia berusia lima tahun. Setelah itu, Horan dan kakaknya hidup berpindah-pindah antara rumah ibu dan rumah ayahnya. Ibunya menikah lagi dengan seorang pria bernama Chris dan pindah ke Edgeworthstown, County Longford.[3] Dia bersekolah di Coláiste Mhuire, sebuah sekolah katolik di Irlandia.[5][6].
