We the Fest dimulai pada tahun 2014 dan diadakan setiap tahun setiap akhir pekan pertengahan atau akhir bulan Agustus di Parkir Timur Senayan. Namun pada tahun 2017, festival ini akan dipindah ke Jakarta International Expo.[1]

Festival ini diselenggarakan oleh Ismaya Live. Pada tahun 2016, festival musik ini dihadiri oleh lebih dari 26 ribu penonton. Di tahun 2017, jumlah ini naik hingga menembus angka 50 ribu penonton.[2]

Panggung

We the Fest setiap tahunnya menampilkan berbagai artis internasional maupun lokal dengan jenis musik yang berbeda.

Sampai sekarang, dalam We the Fest dikenalkan 3 panggung. Pada tahun 2016, panggung utama We the Fest dipersembahkan oleh Urban Gigs[4], sedangkan panggung The Stage Is B.A.N.A.N.A.S!! dipersembahkan oleh perusahaan pakaian asal Swedia, H&M,[5] dan panggung Another Stage dipersembahkan layanan streaming musik Joox bersama dengan perusahaan rekaman musik indie Demajors.[6]

Submit Your Music

2016

Pada tahun 2016, digelar sebuah kompetisi bertajuk Submit Your Band, yang di mana tiga pemenang kompetisi tersebut dapat tampil pada panggung We The Fest.[9] Pemenang kontes tersebut ialah Hello Benji & The Cobra, Pijar dan Westjam Nation, namun salah satu finalis yaitu Beeswax turut tampil.[10]

2017

Submit Your Band akan diselenggarakan kembali pada tahun 2017, namun namanya diganti menjadi Submit Your Music. Diumumkan juga bahwa penyanyi solo dapat berpartisipasi juga.[11] Showdown tahun kali ini diadakan di Joglo Beer, Kemang, Jakarta Selatan pada 12 dan 19 Juli 2017.[12] Pemenang tahun ini adalah Onar, The Panturas dan Winter Issue.[13]
