99942 Apophis
99942 Apophis (pengucapan: /əˈpoʊfɪs/, adalah asteroid dekat Bumi yang menyebabkan kecemasan singkat pada Desember 2004 karena pengamatan menandai bahwa asteroid ini akan menabrak Bumi pada tahun 2029. Beberapa pengamatan memberikan prediksi yang menghapuskan kemungkinan menabraknya asteroid ini ke Bumi atau Bulan tahun 2029, namun, tetap terdapat kemungkinan bahwa selama pertemuan dekat dengan Bumi tahun 2029, Apophis akan melewati lubang kunci gravitasi, wilayah di angkasa yang tidak lebih dari 400 meter, yang dapat menyebabkan tubrukan di masa depan pada 13 April 2036. Kemungkinan ini membuat asteroid ini masuk kedalam skala 1 dalam skala Torino sampai Agustus 2006.
