James McAvoy
James Andrew McAvoy (lahir 21 April 1979) merupakan seorang aktor berkebangsaan Skotlandia yang memenangkan nominasi ALFS Award, dua BAFTA, dan Golden Globe. Dia dilahirkan di Glasgow. Dia berkarier di dunia film sejak tahun 1995.

Awal Kehidupan dan Keluarga
McAvoy lahir di Glasgow, Skotlandia pada tanggal 21 April 1979, anak dari Elizabeth (née Johnstone), perawat, dan James McAvoy, Sr., seorang tukang[1]. Ia dibesarkan sebagai seorang Katolik Roma[2]. Orang tuanya bercerai ketika ia berusia tujuh tahun.Kesalahan pengutipan: Parameter dalam tag <ref> tidak sah;. Ibunya sesekali datang berkunjung.[1] McAvoy memiliki adik kandung, Joy, dan adik tiri, Donald. [1]McAvoy tidak pernah membuat kontak dengan ayahnya sejak kecil.[1]
Ia bersekolah di St Thomas Aquinas Jordanhill, Glasgow, sekolah Katholik, dan pernah mempertimbangkan untuk menjadi pastor.[3]Dalam wawancara di tahun 2006, McAvoy mengatakan ia berminat untuk menjadi pastor saat masih kecil karena berpendapat bahwa itu adalah cara untuk bisa menjelajah ke tempat lain, yaitu melalui kerja misionaris. Sambil bersekolah ia menyambi bekerja di toko roti setempat.[3]
