Kehidupan awal
Gabriel terlahir dengan nama Gabriel Jesus Iglesias di San Diego, California,[2]. Ia adalah anak bungsu dari enam bersaudara dari pasangan Esther P. Mendez dan Jesus Iglesias.[3] Ia lalu dibesarkan oleh ibunya seorang.[4] Ia berasal dari keturunan Meksiko. Ia hidup berpindah-pindah dari Riverside, Corona, Santa Ana, Baldwin Park, dan Compton sebelum tinggal di Section 8, perumahan untuk yang berpendapatan rendah di Long Beach, dimana disinilah Gabriel menghabiskan masa mudanya.[2][4]
