Sushant Singh Rajput adalah seorang aktor film dan televisi India. Dia telah membangun karier di film-film Hindi, dan merupakan salah satu aktor paling populer di India.[2] Ia memulai kariernya dengan serial televisi, termasuk pertunjukan peraih penghargaan di sinetron Pavitra Rishta (2009–2011) dan sebagai peserta dalam dua pertunjukan reality show. Dia kemudian masuk film dengan peran sebagai salah satu dari tiga lead pria dalam drama Kai Po Che! (2013), yang mendapat pujian kritis sekaligus tiga penghargaan Best Male Debut. Kehidupan awal

Sushant lahir di Patna, India dalam keluarga Rajput. Desa leluhurnya adalah Maldiha di distrik Purnia Bihar.[5] [6] Salah satu saudara perempuannya, Mitu Singh, adalah seorang pemain kriket tingkat negara bagian.[7][8] kematian ibunya pada tahun 2002[9] meninggalkan Sushant hancur dan pada tahun yang sama keluarga pindah dari Patna ke Delhi.[8]

Sushant menghadiri St. Karens High School di Patna dan Kulachi Hansraj Model School di New Delhi.[10] Ia memperoleh gelar Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) di Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) (sekarang dikenal sebagai Universitas Teknologi Delhi).[8] Ia juga merupakan pemenang Olimpiade Nasional di bidang Fisika dan mendapat peringkat ketujuh di AIEEE.[11] Secara keseluruhan, dia membersihkan sebanyak 11 ujian masuk teknik, termasuk untuk Sekolah Pertambangan India, Dhanbad.[8] Namun, ia menyelesaikan hanya tiga tahun di perguruan tinggi dalam kursus empat tahun sebelum putus untuk mengejar karier akting.[8]
