George Mallory
George Herbert Leigh Mallory (18 Juni 1886 – 8 atau 9 Juni 1924)[1] adalah seorang pendaki gunung Inggris yang ikut serta dalam tiga ekspedisi Inggris pertama ke Gunung Everest pada awal 1920an.

Lahir di Cheshire, Mallory mengenal panjat tebing dan mendaki gunung saat menjadi murid di Winchester College. Setelah lulus dari Magdalene College, Cambridge, ia belajar di Charterhouse School sesambil mengembangkan keterampilannya sebagai pendaki di Alpen dan Lake District, Inggris. Ia bertugas dalam Angkatan Darat Britania Raya pada Perang Dunia Pertama dan berjuang di Somme.
