William Dwight Whitney
William Dwight Whitney (9 Februari 1827 – 7 Juni 1894) adalah seorang linguis, filologis dan leksikografer Amerika Serikat yang dikenal karena karyanya tentang tata bahasa Sanskerta dan filologi Weda serta pandangan bahasa berpengaruhnya sebagai lembaga sosial. Ia adalah presiden pertama American Philological Association dan kepala penyunting The Century Dictionary.
