Lord Chancellor
Lord Chancellor, atau secara formal Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain (harfiah: "Tuan Kanselir Tinggi Britania Raya"), adalah sebuah jabatan senior dalam pemerintahan Britania Raya. Mereka dilantik oleh Penguasa Berdaulat atas nasihat Perdana Menteri. Lord Chancellor adalah pangkat tertinggi kedua dari Great Officer of State, yang berpangkat hanya setelah Lord High Steward. Sebelum Penyatuan, terdapat Lord Chancellor[1] untuk Inggris dan Wales dan untuk Skotlandia yang terpisah.

Lord Chancellor adalah anggota dari Kabinet dan, menurut hukum, bertanggung jawab atas fungsi efisien dan kemerdekaan pengadilan. Pada 2007, terdapat sejumlah pengubahan sistem hukum dan jabatan Lord Chancellor. Dulunya, Lord Chancellor juga merupakan pejabat yang memimpin Dewan Rakyat, kepala yudisier di Inggris dan Wales, dan hakim ketua dari Divisi Chancery dari Pengadilan Tinggi Keadilan, tetapi Undang-Undang Reformasi Konstitusional 2005 mengalihkan peran-peran tersebut masing-masing kepada Lord Speaker, Lord Chief Justice, dan Chancellor of the High Court. Lord Chancellor saat ini adalah Brandon Lewis, yang juga menjabat Menteri Kehakiman sejak 2022.
