Pada tanggal 13 Oktober 2023, satu orang ditusuk hingga tewas dan dua lainnya terluka parah dalam serangan penikaman di sekolah menengah Gambetta-Carnot di Arras, Pas-de-Calais, Hauts-de-France , Perancis.

Latar Belakang
Di tengah perang Israel–Hamas 2023, pemimpin Hamas Khaled Mashal menyerukan Hari Jihad Global pada tanggal 13 Oktober.[1][2]
Serangan
Sekitar pukul 11:00 CEST pada tanggal 13 Oktober 2023, penyerangan dimulai di tempat parkir sekolah.[3][4] Seorang guru bahasa Prancis, Dominique Bernard, tewas sementara seorang guru lainnya dan seorang penjaga keamanan terluka parah.[5][6] Penyerang dihadang oleh seorang guru dan anggota staf lainnya termasuk kepala sekolah sebelum ditahan oleh kepolisian.[3][7]
Suspect
The alleged attacker, identified as Mohamed M.,[8] is a Chechen who was born in 2003 and moved to France with his family in 2008.[3] He was heard shouting "Allahu akbar" during the attack.[9] The suspect was known to the French security services for his involvement with radical Islamism; he was arrested by police.[10] The suspect was a former student of the school and his brother was also detained.[11]
