WeTV dan Tencent video adalah 2 badan usaha yang berbeda. WeTV adalah brand yang khurus melayani negara asia tenggara. Promosi dan konten yang disajikanpun sangat berbeda dengan Tencent Video (WeTV punya banyak konten lokal seperti Kisah Untuk Geri, Antares, ILYS). Akan sangat tidak adil bagi para penggemar film lokal kalau WeTV digabungkan dengan Tencent Video yang hanya melayani pasar Tiongkok.
