Karier

Kihlström memenangkan Kejuaraan Dunia IBF 1983 di ganda campuran bersama Nora Perry.[1] Ia juga memenangkan 16 medali di Kejuaraan Eropa, dua di antaranya di tunggal putra, dua di ganda campuran, lima di ganda putra, dan 7 di kompetisi beregu. Dia berbagi dua gelar ganda putra All England, satu dengan Bengt Fröman pada tahun 1976 dan yang lainnya dengan Stefan Karlsson pada tahun 1983. Dia juga berbagi gelar ganda campuran All England dengan Nora Perry pada tahun 1983.[2] Dari tahun 1973 hingga 1988 Kihlström ditangkap total dua puluh empat acara di Kejuaraan Nasional Swedia.
