Religious traditions and ceremonies of Indonesia
Indonesia has a Muslim population of almost 90 percent of the total population. The rest are Christians, Hindus and Buddhists. At the same time, they still hold on to the ghosts and mystical things that have been held on for generations, especially on the island of Bali, which is known as the island of rituals. Some people say that if you visit Bali, you must see at least one ritual. For this reason, Indonesia has a variety of interesting traditional festivals, such as
1. Sesajji Festival
This festival is held in Java and Bali to invite spirits to eat the food prepared by the villagers. Javanese people do not eat this food because it is considered a ghost food. Unlike Balinese people, who eat the food after the ritual is complete in order to live in peace and happiness.
2. The Jiva Ceremony
It is a ceremony held to strengthen and cleanse the spirits that dwell everywhere, not only people, animals, but also trees and forests, which are believed to bring good and bad things to all things. Therefore, the Jiva ceremony must be performed to increase the power and balance the spirits. Some groups in Indonesia believe that the Jiva, or the spirit of living things, such as humans, is in the head, so they try to hunt the heads of humans who they consider enemies to strengthen the amulets and bring prosperity to the community.

Sir Frederick William Herschel (15 November 1738 – 25 Agustus 1822) adalah seorang astronom dan komponis kelahiran Jerman-Inggris yang terkenal karena menemukan planet Uranus. Ia juga menemukan radiasi inframerah dan melakukan penemuan lainnya dalam bidang astronomi.
