Jembatan Sangkulirang adalah jembatan lintas laut yang menghubungkan daratan utama Pulau Kalimantan dengan Pulau Sangkulirang yang melintasi perairan Teluk Sangkulirang yang terletak di Kabupaten Kutai Timur, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur.

Penamaan

Jembatan Sangkulirang dinamakan demikian karena lokasi jembatan ini berada di wilayah Kecamatan Sangkulirang, menghubungkan Kalimantan dengan Pulau Sangkulirang dan melintasi Teluk Sangkulirang.

Lokasi

Lokasi Jembatan Sangkulirang ini berada di wilayah sebelah utara Kabupaten Kutai Timur. tepatnya menghubungkan wilayah Ronggang dengan Pulau Sangkulirang.

Sejarah

Sebelum dibangunnya Jembatan Sangkulirang, masyarakat yang hendak menuju dan dari Pulau Sangkulirang ke daratan utama Pulau Kalimantan harus menggunakan moda transportasi ferry melalui Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Ronggang.

Untuk memperlancar arus lalu lintas dari dan ke Pulau Sangkulirang dan meningkatkan perekonomian Pulau Sangkulirang, Pemerintah Kabupaten Kutai Timur kemudian membangun Jembatan Sangkulirang ini pada tahun 2009 dan diselesaikan pada tahun 2011. Jembatan mulai difungsikan pada tahun 2011 namun baru diresmikan pada tahun 2013 oleh Bupati Isran Noor^[1].

Spesifikasi teknis

Jembatan Sangkulirang ini memiliki panjang 480 meter dengan lebar hanya 10 meter, jembatan ini terdiri atas 2 jalur dan memiliki maksimal beban 8 ton^[2].
