Astrolab
Astrolab adalah instrumen astronomi zaman dahulu yang digunakan oleh astronom, navigator, dan astrolog pada era klasik. Astrolab banyak digunakan untuk menentukan lokasi dan mempreduksi posisi matahari, bulan, planet, dan bintang; menentukan waktu lokal dengan diketahui letak bujur dan letak lintang; survei; serta triangulasi.
Pada era Islam abad pertengahan, astrolab terutama digunakan untuk mempelajari astronomi, navigasi, survei, penentu waktu, salat, serta menentukan arah kiblat. Astrolog dari Eropa menggunakan astrolab untuk horoskop.
