Empire of Gold (Hangul: 황금의 제국; RR: Hwanggeum-eui Jeguk) adalah serial drama televisi Korea Selatan tahun 2013 yang dibintangi Go Soo, Lee Yo-won, and Son Hyun-joo.[1][2] Drama ini disiarkan di SBS dari 1 Juli sampai 17 September 2013 pada hari Senin dan Selasa pukul 21:55 selama 24 episode.

Alur
Serial ini adalah saga multi-generasi yang meliputi rentang dua puluh tahun 1990-2010, dan menyusul satu keluarga chaebol karena bangkit dari reruntuhan krisis keuangan IMF 1990-an yang mendatangkan malapetaka pada ekonomi Korea, menjadi salah satu konglomerat top di negara ini. Tiga orang menjadi kunci dalam perebutan kekuasaan untuk mengendalikan kerajaan chaebol ini.[3]
Pemeran
- Jang Tae-joo datang dari bukan siapa-siapa, dan ambisinya terdorong setelah menyaksikan nasib buruk dari kerja keras kemiskinan ayahnya. Setelah ayah mereka meninggal, Tae-joo mengangkat adiknya Hee-joo sendiri, dan perkelahian mati-matian untuk naik ke atas mengandalkan akal licik nya. Cerdas, bersemangat, dan didorong, ia bertahan penghinaan dan penghinaan karena ia bekerja tanpa henti demi mewujudkan mimpi kesuksesan dan kekayaan. Tapi pengkhianatan dan eksploitasi secara bertahap mengubah dirinya menjadi, mogule kejam berhati dingin. Dia menikahi Seo-yoon, meskipun ia mencintai Seol-hee.
- Lee Yo-won sebagai Choi Seo-yoon
- The reserved, aloof and second youngest daughter of the chaebol founder and heiress to the business empire, she and Tae-joo get married, although they both don't love each other.
- Son Hyun-joo sebagai Choi Min-jae
- Seo-yoon's cousin and Tae-joo's biggest rival for Sungjin Group's top seat. Choi Min-jae is as ruthless, cunning, and unscrupulous as Tae-joo, lobbying, bribing and arranging backdoor deals with the political elite.
- Jang Shin-young sebagai Yoon Seol-hee
- A woman who uses her looks to garner insider information, sets up a real estate consulting firm to sell what she knows. Even though it's a dangerous job, she teams up with Tae-joo to take down the Choi family and their business empire. She falls in love with Tae-joo.
- Ryu Seung-soo sebagai Jo Pil-doo
- A mob boss who is the antagonist to Jang Tae-joo's start-up business, and becomes a friend of Tae-joo later.

- The patriarch and CEO of giant conglomerate Sungjin Group.
