Ritus Skotlandia
The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry adalah nama resmi dari Ritus Skotlandia.
Ritus Skotlandia sendiri diakui sebagai satu badan dengan Freemason.
Sejarah
Sebenarnya terminologi Skotlandia sudah ada sejak tahun 1733, yaitu sebuah jabatan yang dinamakan Scots Master. Resminya, Ritus Skotlandia ini dibentuk pada Mei 1801 di Charleston, Karolina Selatan pada saat Kongres Dewan Agung.
Organisasi
Ritus Skotlandia di setiap negara dikendalikan oleh Dewan Agung. Tidak ada badan internasional yang mengendalikan-hanya Dewan Agung di setiap negara yang diberi kewenangan untuk mengendalikan loji-loji Freemason di negaranya.
Amerika Serikat
Di Amerika Serikat, ada dua Dewan Agung yang mengendalikan Freemason di Amerika, yaitu di Washington DC dan di Lexington, Massachusetts. Dewan Agung ini mengatur dua region yaitu Yurisdiksi Mason Utara dan Yurisdiksi Mason Selatan.
Inggris
Di Inggris dan Wales, badan yang mengendalikan adalah Rose Croix.
Tingkatan Ritus Skotlandia
Ritus Skotlandia dan Ritus York agak sedikit berbeda dalam hal tingkatan. Ritus York lebih sedikit dalam jumlah tingkat, sedangkan Ritus Skotlandia memiliki 33 tingkat. Tapi kedua Ritus ini memiliki persamaan di 3 tingkat awal.
