Kentucky
negara bagian Amerika Serikat
Persemakmuran Kentucky adalah sebuah negara bagian Amerika Serikat yang terletak di bagian selatan Amerika Serikat, meskipun secara geografis kadang-kadang juga dimasukkan ke dalam Barat tengah. Pada 1792, Kentucky menjadi negara bagian ke-15 yang bergabung dalam Uni. Kentucky terkenal sebagai "Negara bagian Bluegrass", sebuah julukan yang didasarkan pada kenyataan bahwa rumput biru terdapat di banyak padang rumput di seluruh negara bagian ini. Kentucky juga terkenal karena kuda-kuda thoroughbrednya, pacuan kuda, penyulingan wiski bourbon, musik bluegrass dan bola basket sekolah tingginya.

Kentucky berbatasan dengan negara-negara bagian di Barat tengah dan Tenggara. West Virginia dan Virginia terletak di sebelah timurnya; Tennessee di selatan; Missouri di sebelah barat; dan Illinois, Indiana, serta Ohio di utara.
