Pada November 2011 Google mengumumkan bahwa Knol akan dihapus. Konten telah dipindahkan oleh pemilik ke laman berbasis [[WordPress]], [[Annotum]]. Knol telah ditutup pada 30 April 2012, dan seua konten telah dihapus pada 1 Oktober 2012.
