Potensial aksi

Potensial aksi adalah aliran ionik positif dan negatif yang bergerak di membran sel. Potensial aksi melibatkan perubahan potensi elektrik pada permukaan sel saraf atau sel otot pada saat terjadi eksitasi.[1] Langkah awal pengolahan informasi indra adalah transformasi energi stimulus menjadi potensial reseptor, lalu menjadi potensial aksi pada serabut saraf. Pola potensial aksi merupakan kode informasi mengenai dunia, walaupun kadang-kadang kode yang disampaikan berbeda dari yang akan disampaikan. Potensial aksi ada pada tiap hewan.
