Bessie Clayton (c. 1875 – Juli 16, 1948)[1][2][3] adalah seorang penari dan koreografer Amerika Broadway, vaudeville dan olok-olok khusus yang karirnya hampir 35 tahun dimulai di era yang dikenal sebagai Gay Nineties. Clayton dikenang karena gaya tariannya yang seperti angin puyuh yang sering dilakukan saat menuruni tangga yang panjang. Dia dianggap sebagai ibu dari tarian jari kaki Amerika,[4] dan perpaduan antara tari panggung dan balet klasik.[5][6] Dalam berita kematiannya, The New York Times menyebut prima ballerina kelahiran asli pertama Clayton America.
