Emas (79Au) memiliki satu isotop stabil, 197Au, dan 36 radioisotop, dengan 195Au menjadi yang paling stabil dengan waktu paruh 186 hari. Emas saat ini dianggap sebagai unsur monoisotop terberat. Bismut sebelumnya memegang gelar tersebut sampai peluruhan alfa dari isotop 209Bi teramati. Semua isotop emas bersifat radioaktif atau, dalam kasus 197Au, stabil secara pengamatan, yang berarti bahwa 197Au diprediksi bersifat radioaktif tetapi tidak ada peluruhan aktual yang teramati.
