Nemesis adalah bintang katai merah[1] atau katai coklat[2] yang diusulkan keberadaannya pada tahun 1984. Bintang ini diusulkan mengelilingi Matahari pada jarak 95.000 Satuan Astronomi (1,5 tahun cahaya)[2] di luar awan Oort sebagai penyebab siklus kepunahan massal setiap 26 juta tahun sekali.[3][2] Sejauh ini, lebih dari 1300 katai coklat telah ditemukan dan tidak ada satupun yang berada di dalam Tata Surya.[4]
