House Un-American Activities Committee
House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) (alias, The House Committee on Un-American Activities, HUAC atau HCUA) adalah sebuah komite penyelidikan Dewan Perwakilan Amerika Serikat (DPR). HUAC dibuat pada 1938 untuk menyelidiki dugaan pengkhianatan dan kegiatan terselubung pada warga negara swasta, karyawan negeri, dan organisasi yang diduga memiliki hubungan dengan komunis. Pada 1969, komite tersebut berganti nama menjadi "House Committee on Internal Security". Saat DPR membubarkan komite tersebut pada 1975,[1] fungsi-fungsinya dialihkan ke House Judiciary Committee.
Penyelidikan anti-komunis dari komite tersebut sering kali dikaitkan dengan orang-orang Joseph McCarthy[2] yang, sebagai seorang Senator AS, tak memiliki keterlibatan langsung dengan komite DPR tersebut.[3] McCarthy merupakan ketua dari Government Operations Committee dan Subkomite Permanen terhadap Penyelidikan-nya dari Senat AS, bukan DPR.
