Inkuisisi Meksiko

Inkuisisi Meksiko adalah sebuah keberadaan Inkuisisi Spanyol di Spanyol Baru. Penaklukan Meksiko oleh Spanyol tak hanya peristiwa politik bagi Spanyol, namun juga peristiwa keagamaan. Pada awal abad ke-16, Reformasi, Kontra-Reformasi dan Inkuisisi ditegakkan penuh di sebagian besar Eropa. Para penguasa Katolik Kastilia dan Aragon merebut kembali kekuatan Muslim terakhir di Semenanjung Iberia, kerajaan Granada, memberikan mereka status istimewa dalam alam Katolik Roma, termasuk kebebasan besar dalam konversi suku bangsa asli Mesoamerika.
