Martha Finnemore
Martha Finnemore (lahir 1959)[1] adalah ilmuwan hubungan internasional konstruktivis, dan dosen[2] Elliott School of International Affairs di Univesitas George Washington. Ia dikenal lewat buku-bukunya, National Interests in International Society, The Purpose of Intervention, dan Rules for the World (bersama Michael Barnett) yang mencetuskan aliran konstruktivisme. Pada tahun 2009, survei dosen hubungan internasional di sepuluh negara menempatkan Finnemore di antara 25 akademisi HI paling berpengaruh di dunia dan 5 akademisi HI yang menghasilkan karya paling menarik dalam lima tahun terakhir;[3] survei sebelumnya juga menempatkan Finnemore di dua kategori yang sama.[4] Pada tahun 2011, ia terpilih sebagai anggota American Academy of Arts and Sciences.[5]
Finnemore mendapatkan gelar B.A. dari Harvard, M.A. dari Universitas Sydney, dan Ph.D. pada tahun 1991 dari Universitas Stanford.[6][7] Suaminya, David Furth,[8] adalah kepala Biro Keselamatan Masyarakat dan Keamanan Dalam Negeri di Komisi Komunikasi Federal Amerika Serikat.[9]
