Matty Matheson
Matthew James Matheson (lahir 7 Februari 1982)[1] adalah koki, pemilik restoran, aktor, dan selebritas internet asal Kanada. Dia memerankan Neil Fak di serial FX, The Bear.

Matheson adalah koki eksekutif Parts & Labour,[2] sebuah restoran yang berlokasi di Toronto, Ontario, yang tutup permanen pada 1 Januari 2019. Matheson sejak itu memulai Matty's Patty's Burger Club, sebuah restoran takeout di Toronto, Ontario, yang dibuka pada Desember 2020.[3] Pada bulan April 2022, Matheson membuka Prime Seafood Palace, yang juga berlokasi di Toronto.[4] Matheson secara rutin muncul di acara Vice, Munchies. Dia sebelumnya menjadi pembawa acara Viceland!, It's Suppertime dan Dead Set on Life.[5]
Awal kehidupan
suntingMatheson lahir di Saint John, New Brunswick, dari pasangan insinyur Stephen dan pelayan Joan Matheson.[5] Keluarganya tinggal di Nova Scotia sampai Matheson berusia 11 tahun,[6] ketika mereka pindah ke Fort Erie, Ontario.[7] Sebelum pindah ke Ontario, Matheson tumbuh sebagai anggota Gereja Yesus Kristus dari Orang-orang Suci Zaman Akhir; namun, keluarganya meninggalkan gereja ketika meninggalkan Nova Scotia.[8][9] Kakek Matheson adalah seorang pemilik restoran dan mantan petugas RCMP dari Pulau Pangeran Edward, keluarga yang berakar di PEI sejak tahun 1700-an. Kakeknya memiliki dan mengoperasikan restoran The Blue Goose di DeSable, tempat Matty menghabiskan musim panasnya.[10]
Matheson pindah ke Toronto pada tahun 2000 dan menghadiri program memasak Humber. Untuk menjalani tugas singkat dalam tur sebagai roadie untuk band metal teman-temannya, dia keluar dari program tersebut sebelum lulus. Namun, Matheson menyadari bahwa dia memiliki bakat dalam menyembelih daging, dan dia melanjutkan karir kulinernya dengan membagikan resume ke restoran secara acak sampai dia mendapatkan pekerjaan.[7]
Kehidupan pribadi
suntingMatheson memiliki riwayat penyalahgunaan zat di masa lalu. Dia pertama kali mencoba kokain di kelas 11. Penggunaan obat secara teratur menyebabkan dia terkena serangan jantung pada usia 29 tahun. Setelah serangan jantungnya, Matheson berhenti menggunakan obat-obatan dan alkohol pada akhir tahun 2013. Tujuh bulan setelah sadar, Matheson merekam episode pertamanya dari Keep It Canada.[5]
Pada tahun 2014, Matheson menikah dengan Trish Spencer.[11] Mereka memiliki tiga anak.
