Etimologi
suntingBintang ini memiliki nama tradisional Isis yang merupakan nama salah satu dewi Mesir Kuno.
Pada Almagest, bintang ini disebut sebagai quae in capite, berarti "yang berada di kepala (sang anjing besar)".[9]
