Nicholas Colasanto
Nicholas Colasanto (19 Januari 1924 – 12 Februari 1985) adalah seorang aktor dan sutradara televisi Amerika Serikat yang terkenal karena perannya sebagai "Pelatih" Ernie Pantusso dalam sitkom televisi Amerika Cheers. Dia bertugas di Angkatan Laut Amerika Serikat selama Perang Dunia II.

Kehidupan awal
suntingLahir 19 Januari 1924, di Providence, Rhode Island,[1] Colasanto kuliah di Universitas Bryant (sekarang berlokasi di Smithfield, Rhode Island)[2] dan merupakan seorang veteran Perang Dunia II yang dihormati, di mana ia menjabat sebagai pengemudi di Angkatan Laut Amerika Serikat.[3] Dia keturunan Italia.[4]
Karier
suntingPada tahun 1951, dia menjadi seorang pembukuan.[5] Sekitar tahun 1954, ia berniat bekerja sebagai akuntan di sebuah perusahaan di Arab Saudi.[6] Terinspirasi oleh penampilan Henry Fonda dalam drama Broadway Mister Roberts, Colasanto melamar Akademi Seni Drama Amerika tetapi ditolak, jadi dia bergabung dengan perusahaan teater kecil di Phoenix, Arizona.[5]

Kematian
suntingColasanto meninggal karena serangan jantung di rumahnya pada 12 Februari 1985, pada usia 61 tahun.[8][22] Upacara peringatan diadakan di Hollywood Utara, Los Angeles, dan dihadiri oleh seluruh staf dan pemeran Cheers.[23] Selain itu, lebih dari 300 pelayat, termasuk rekan sejawatnya John Ratzenberger, menghadiri Misa pemakaman tanggal 16 Februari di Gereja Salib Suci di Providence.[24][25] Colasanto dimakamkan di Pemakaman Saint Ann di Cranston, Rhode Island.[26]
