Wafatnya

Kalau tidak salah, Ahmad Yani tidak meninggal di Lubang Buaya melainkan di depan rumahnya sendiri di Jalan Latuharhary No. 6 setelah dia ditembak. Davidelit 09:32, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

dari buku yang di tulis oleh Ibu A. Yani berjudul "AHMAD YANI Sebuah Kenang-Kenangan" (1983:29) bahwa nama Ahmad Yani sebelumnya nama aslinya adalah Amat Yani, kemudia oleh orang tuanya ditambah huruf "h" selengkapnya seperti dikutip dari buku ini "...Anak laki-laki satu-satunya itu diberi nama Yani. Amat Yani. Ketika sang anak ini, berkat pendidikan keagamaan orang tuanya, merasa dekat dengan serba ke Islaman, nama depannya ditambah huruf "h", menjadi Ahmat Yani. Dengan sekolahnya yang makin menanjak, ia rasakan ejaan "Ahmat" itu kurang "sreg", lalu ditambah huruf "c", dan huruf "t"nya diganti "d". Ejaan namanya menjadi Achmad Yani. Kemudian dengan ejaan baru, namanya dieja menjadi Ahmad Yani. Perubahan itu terjadi ketika menjabat Men/Pangad dan atas perintah presiden Soekarno.
