Ya itulah :-) memang kurang meyakinkan kelihatannya, karena merupakan pendapat pribadi tokoh mereka. Boleh jadi ini karena tingginya tingkat asimilasi dengan penduduk pribumi, sedangkan pengakuan mereka sebagai warga keturunan Arab-Indonesia biasanya cenderung "suka-suka". Sebenarnya lebih banyak asimilasi warga keturunan Tiong Hoa, dan keturunan mereka tidak kelihatan lagi ... Kalau di Solo tempat asal orang tua saya, warga keturunan Arab (dan India-Pakistan) tidak atau kurang berasimilasi. Nanti kalau saya menemukan sumber lain akan saya sertakan di sini :-) Salam. Kisah Pernikahan Sunan Gunung Jati dengan putri Ba'Syaiban

Maaf Bung Naval dan Mersault, sudah lama saya tidak memperhatikan perkembangan artikel-artikel di wikipedia terutama yg berhubungan dgn sejarah Islam di nusantara yg dulu saya rintis. Di Artikel Arab Indonesia ini, ada tambahan kisah sejarah yg tidak faktual. Yaitu menikahnya Sunan Gunung Jati dengan putri seorang pendatang hadramawt dari marga Ba'Syaiban pada abad 17.

Karena Sunan Gunung Jati wafat pada 1570 dalam usia 120 tahun. Sedangkan kelompok Hadramawt yg datang dengan marga yg kita kenal skg memang pada abad belakangan, paling cepat abad 17. Karena marga-marga yang kita kenal sekarang spt Alatas, Al Habsiy, Al Jufri, Ba'syaiban dll belum ada pada masa Walisongo. Marga tertua saja 'As Saqqaf' baru muncul di Hadramawt setelah tokohnya Syekh Abdurahman bin Muhammad Mauladdawilah wafat tahun 731 H atau awal abad 15. Marga-marga lain mulai muncul abad 16 seperti Alaydrus , Aljufri , Syihab , Syahab dan banyak lainnya. salam-sabrangi.

Koreksi permukiman orang Arab di Kota Tegal

Salam. Izin mengoreksi artikel ini. Disini, tertulis permukiman orang Arab di Kota Tegal adalah "Kauman". Etnis Arab di Tegal sendiri bermukim tidak hanya di kampung Kauman melainkan juga tersebar di beberapa tempat seperti kampung gang balsah (kini menjadi jl delima) yang terpisah dari kampung Kauman tetapi keduanya masuk kedalam wilayah Kelurahan Pekauman Kecamatan Tegal Barat.
