Rasanya definisi yang digunakan di sini tidak tepat. Saya pernah mendengar sebuah penjelasan di acara pembinaan bahasa Indonesia di TVRI beberapa tahun yang lalu (saya tak ingat siapa yang menyampaikannya), namun seingat saya baik yatim maupun piatu sama-sama berarti "orphan"; "yatim" berasal dari bahasa Arab, sementara "piatu" dari bahasa Melayu.Stephensuleeman 03:23, 30 Agustus 2007 (UTC)
