Penolakan imigrasi
Perlawanan terhadap imigrasi timbul di seluruh negara dengan imigrasi, dan telah menjadi masalah politik signifikan di banyak negara. Imigrasi dalam esensi modern merujuk kepada pergerakan masyarakat dari satu negara atau teritori ke negara atau teritori lain dimana mereka bukanlah warga negara. Imigrasi ilegal adalah imigrasi yang berlawanan dengan hukum imigrasi negara.[1]
Perlawanan terhadap imigrasi meliputi seruan untuk berbagai reformasi imigrasi sampai proporsal untuk membatasi penuh imigrasi terhadap suatu negara. Sikap tersebut sering kali juga meliputi tindakan melawan imigrasi terhadap warga negara yang ada.
Penolakan imigrasi memberikan banyak keuntungan bagi negara, di antaranya lapangan kerja yang lebih banyak kepada warga lokal, pengurangan uang yang dikeluarkan (umumnya dalam bentuk gaji imigran), pengurangan angka kriminalitas, stabilitas politik, perlindungan terhadap kebudayaan lokal, dan insentif bagi imigran baru untuk mendaftarkan diri secara legal serta menjalani asimilasi sehingga menjadi bagian dari masyarakat tersebut.
