Petrarca

Francesco Petrarca (20 Juli 1304 – 19 Juli 1374) adalah seorang cendekiawan dan penyair Italia. Dia juga adalah salah satu humanis terawal. Petrarca sering disebut "Bapak Humanisme".[1] Pada abad ke-16, Pietro Bembo menciptakan model untuk bahasa Italia modern berdasarkan karya-karya Petrarca. Soneta-soneta Petrarca dikagumi dan ditiru di seluruh Eropa pada masa Renaisans dan menjadi model untuk sajak liris. Dia juga dikenal sebagai salah satu yang pertama kali mengembangkan konsep Zaman Kegelapan.
