Ia terakhir kali menjadi kepala pelatih klub Liga Pro Belgia Club Brugge.[4] Parker juga pernah menjadi manajer Fulham dan Bournemouth.[5]
Sebagai pemain profesional, Parker bermain sebagai gelandang dan pernah bermain untuk Charlton Athletic, Norwich City, Chelsea, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, dan Fulham.[6][7]
