Ia meninggal tanpa keturunan. Setelah kematiannya, raja [[Wessex]] [[Ceawlin dari Wessex|Ceawlin]] merebut Sussex, yang dilanjutkan oleh penerusnya [[Ceol dari Wessex|Ceolric]] dan [[Ceolwulf dari Wessex|Ceolwulf]].
