Kereta Api Kedungsapur adalah kereta api komuter kelas Eksekutif satu-satunya yang dioperasikan oleh Daop 4 Semarang. Peresmian kereta api ini adalah saat ulang tahun PT KAI pada tanggal 28 September 2014. Pada awalnya, kereta api ini melayani rute Gubug-Semarang-Weleri.

Rangkaian kereta api ini menggunakan Kereta Rel Diesel (KRD) yang dahulu digunakan Kereta api Prambanan Ekspres Solo-Yogyakarta-Kutoarjo. Akan tetapi, rangkaian KRD ini diretrofit karena rencananya rangkaian KRD ini akan dipindahkan ke Sumatera Utara untuk dijadikan kereta api Airport Railink Services yang akan dioperasikan sementara sebelum kereta api baru dari Korea Selatan datang.

Rencana ini dibatalkan dan yang dipindah ke Sumatera Utara adalah rangkaian kereta api bekas Kereta api Arjuna Ekspres. Rangkaian kereta api ini kembali dioperasikan di rute Solo-Yogyakarta-Kutoarjo dan menjadi Kereta api Sriwedari.

Karena okupansi penumpang yang minim, jadwal dan rute kereta api Kedung Sepur diubah total menjadi melayani Semarang - Ngrombo PP sejak 1 Februari 2015.
