Kereta api Sembrani adalah kereta api kelas eksekutif yang dioperasikan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) di Pulau Jawa dengan jurusan Jakarta Gambir - Surabaya Pasar Turi dan sebaliknya.

Gerbong kelas Eksekutif Sembrani yang juga dipakai oleh 4 kereta yang memiliki konfigurasi gebong yang sama.

Nama Sembrani dikenal didalam pewayangan sebagai seekor kuda bersayap yang cantik, gagah berani dan dapat terbang. Sembrani juga merupakan tunggangan dari Batara Wisnu, kesan ini akhirnya ditanamkan pada kereta yang diluncurkan pada tanggal 1 Oktober 1995. kereta Api ini juga merupakan pembaharuan dan inovasi dari KA Mutiara Utara yang sudah beroperasi lebih awal. Wilayah operasionalnya berada di antara koridor Jakarta Kota-Surabaya pasar Turi dengan rentang waktu perjalanan selama 10 Jam 40 Menit, kereta api ini memiliki formasi barisan gerbong yang terdiri dari 8 Gerbong Kelas Eksekutif (K1) yang memiliki kapasitas 312-416 tempat duduk , 1 Kereta Bagasi & 1 Kereta Makan (KM 1) serta 1 Kereta Pembangkit Listrik (BP) ini menawarkan alternatif perjalanan pada malam hari melalui lintas Utara Pulau Jawa dengan perhentian di Stasiun Pekalongan, Tegal, Semarang Tawang, Cepu dan Bojonegoro. Pada bulan September 2008 yang lalu, Balai Yasa Manggarai yang merupakan divisi teknik dari KAI telah menyempurnakan desain interior gerbong desain yang hampir mirip dengan pesawat terbang dan berikut beberapa perubahan dan penambahan yang ada pada KA Sembrani:

Kursi yang dilengkapi dengan kantong barang, meja lipat yang mudah digunakan & kursi yang bisa di putar.
Penyempurnaan jendela untuk menyeimbangkan intensitas cahaya yang masuk.
LCD TV 26 Inci di setiap gerbong yang terdiri dari 4 buah.

Pembaharuan ini juga membawa dampak pada para penumpang yang berpergian baik dari maupun ke kedua kota tersebut dan ini juga merupakan atas saran dari para penumpang yang menginginkan peningkatan kualitas pada kereta Sembrani.
