G.K. Chesterton
Gilbert Keith Chesterton, KC*SG (29 Mei 1874 – 14 Juni 1936), yang lebih dikenal sebagai G. K. Chesterton, adalah seorang penulis,[2] penyair, filsuf, dramatis, jurnalis, orator, teolog awam, biografer, dan kritikus seni dan sastra Inggris. Chesterton sering disebut sebagai "pangeran paradoks."[3]

Chesterton lebih dikenal karena pendeta-detektif fiksi buatannya Romo Brown,[4] dan untuk apologetik beralasannya.
Kehidupan awal
Chesterton lahir di Campden Hill, Kensington, London, sebagai putra dari Marie Louise, nee Grosjean, dan Edward Chesterton.[5][6] Ia dibaptis pada usia sebulan dalam tradisi Gereja Inggris,[7] meskipun keluarganya sendiri terkadang mempraktikan Unitarian.[8]
Chesterton dididik di Sekolah Santo Paulus, kemudian masuk Sekolah Seni Slade dalam rangka menjadi ilustrator. in order to become an illustrator. Slade adalah sebuah departemen University College London, dimana Chesterton juga mengambil budang sastra, namun tidak meraih sebuah gelar dalam subyek manapun.
