Ciri khas konsonan letup celah-suara:
- Cara artikulasi adalah oklusif, yang dihasilkan dengan menyumbat aliran udara sepenuhnya dalam sistem vokal. Sebagai konsonan nasal, aliran udara yang terhalang dialirkan melalui hidung.
- Daerah artikulasi adalah dwibibir, yang berarti diartikulasi kedua belah bibir.
- Artikulasi adalah bersuara, yang dihasilkan dengan getaran pita suara.
- Merupakan konsonan nasal, yang dihasilkan dengan udara keluar dari hidung.
- Karena suara tidak dihasilkan dengan mengalirkan udara di lidah, maka bukan merupakan konsonan madya atau konsonan sisi.
