Buaya air tawar
Buaya air tawar (Crocodylus johnstoni), atau yang dikenal secara umum sebagai buaya air tawar australia, buaya johnstone atau freshie, adalah sebuah spesies buaya yang berasal dari daerah-daerah utara Australia. Tidak seperti kerabatnya yang lebih besar dari Australia, buaya air asin, buaya ini tidak dikenal sebagai buaya pemakan manusia, meski mereka juga mengigit sebagai upaya pertahanan diri, dan serangan ringkas dan nonfatal juga pernah terjadi, tampaknya merupakan hasil dari salah identitas.

Unfortunately Krefft misspelled the name "johnsoni " in his initial description and his subsequent correction was ignored until 1983 when the nomenclature was reviewed thoroughly by Hal Cogger (Cogger 1983).
