Pakaian dalam

Pakaian dalam adalah pakaian yang dikenakan di bawah pakaian lainnya, seringkali langsung bersentuhan dengan kulit. Dipakai agar pakaian luar tidak dikotori oleh keringat, urine, cairan vagina, air mani, tinja, dan lainnya; melindungi tubuh dari kelembaban yang menyebabkan bakteri atau jamur hinggap; membentuk tubuh agar terlihat fit; dan memberikan bentuk lekukan pada bagian-bagian tertentu. Dalam cuaca dingin, pakaian dalam panjang kadang-kadang dipakai untuk memberikan kehangatan tambahan. Beberapa dimaksudkan untuk memberikan efek erotis. Beberapa jenis khusus memiliki makna keagamaan. Beberapa dirancang sebagai pakaian dalam, sementara yang lain, seperti kaus oblong dan beberapa jenis celana pendek, sesuai baik sebagai pakaian dalam dan sebagai pakaian luar. Jika terbuat dari bahan yang cocok, beberapa pakaian dalam dapat berfungsi sebagai pakaian tidur atau pakaian renang. Pakaian dalam yang biasa dikenakan oleh kedua jenis kelamin termasuk kaus oblong, baju tanpa lengan (juga disebut singlet), bikini, thong, dan G-string.

Bikini		Biasanya dikenakan dengan karet lingkar pinggang lebih rendah dari pinggang pemakainya, biasanya di lingkar pinggul, dengan karet lingkar paha pada selangkangan. Bikini pria biasanya tidak memiliki fly. Thong		Has a narrow strip of material along the centre of the garment's rear which sits between the wearer's buttocks and connects the front or pouch to the waistband behind the wearer. Thongs are sometimes worn to reduce "panty lines" when wearing tightly fitting trousers.

Boxer briefs	Trunks	These are similar in style to boxer shorts, but are generally shorter and form-fitting like briefs.	Athletic-style boxer briefs – similar to bike shorts, these are skin-tight and usually have no fly. Pouch boxer briefs – these have a pouch for the genitals instead of a fly.
Boxer shorts	Boxers	These have an elasticized waistband that is at or near the wearer's waist, while the leg sections are fairly loose and extend to the mid-thigh. There is usually a fly, either with or without buttons. The waistbands of boxer shorts are usually wider than those of briefs, and often bear the brand name of the manufacturer.
