Definisi planet

Definisi planet, semenjak kata tersebut diciptakan oleh orang Yunani kuno, telah mencakup berbagai benda langit. Astronom Yunani menggunakan istilah asteres planetai (ἀστέρες πλανῆται), "bintang pengembara", untuk objek serupa bintang yang tampak bergerak di atas langit.
