Pemasaran Olimpiade Musim Panas 2020 adalah kampanye jangka panjang yang dimulai ketika Tokyo memenangkan penawarannya untuk menjadi tuan rumah Olimpiade pada tahun 2013.

suntingLambang resmi untuk Olimpiade dan Paralimpiade 2020 diresmikan pada 25 April 2016; dirancang oleh Asao Tokolo, yang memenangkan kontes desain nasional, berbentuk cincin dalam pola kotak-kotak berwarna nila. Desain ini dimaksudkan untuk "mengekspresikan keanggunan halus dan kecanggihan yang mencontohkan Jepang".[1] Desain kotak-kotak menyerupai pola yang disebut ichimatsu moyo yang populer selama zaman Edo di Jepang dari tahun 1603 hingga 1867.[2] Desainnya menggantikan lambang sebelumnya yang telah dihapus karena tuduhan bahwa itu menjiplak logo dari Théâtre de Liège di Belgia.[butuh rujukan]

Slogan resmi untuk Pesta Olahraga Tokyo 2020, United By Emotion (Jepang: 感動による団結), diresmikan pada 17 Februari 2020.
Maskot
suntingKomite Penyelenggara Tokyo 2020 mulai menerima pengajuan untuk maskot resmi Olimpiade dari 1 hingga 14 Agustus 2017. Sebanyak 2.042 entri diterima.[4] Tiga entri terpilih diumumkan di Sekolah Dasar Kakezuka pada 7 Desember 2017. Sebuah jajak pendapat kemudian dilakukan antara 11 Desember 2017 dan 22 Februari 2018 untuk memilih entri pemenang, dengan setiap kelas sekolah dasar yang berpartisipasi mengalokasikan satu suara.[5][6] Hasil diumumkan pada 28 Februari 2018. Pemenangnya adalah pasangan calon A ciptaan Ryo Taniguchi yang memperoleh 109.041 suara, disusul pasangan B Kana Yano 61.423 suara dan pasangan C Sanae Akimoto dengan 35.291 suara. Miraitowa adalah sosok dengan pola kotak-kotak biru yang terinspirasi oleh logo resmi Olimpiade, yang memiliki pesona kuno dan inovasi baru yang dikombinasikan dengan kekuatan khusus teleportasi instan. Baik Miraitowa maupun Someity ditunjuk oleh Panitia Penyelenggara pada 22 Juli 2018.[7]
Permainan video
suntingSega mendapatkan kembali hak untuk memproduksi permainan video berdasarkan Olimpiade, setelah hak untuk tahun 2018 dipegang oleh Ubisoft.[8] Sega telah mengembangkan permainan berlisensi resmi untuk berbagai platform sejak Olimpiade Musim Panas 2008, terutama seri Mario & Sonic.[9]
Pada Sega Fest 2019, Sega mengumumkan mereka akan merilis empat judul yang akan mengambil tempat pada Olimpiade 2020:[10][11]

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game dirilis pada 24 Juli 2019 untuk PlayStation 4 dan Nintendo Switch di Asia Timur, sedangkan tanggal rilis untuk wilayah lainnya adalah 22 Juni. Sonic At The Olympic Games - Tokyo 2020 dirilis untuk perangkat seluler pada 6 Mei 2020. Permainan arkade keluar pada tahun 2020.
